Introduction to design
The purpose
Diseño y conceptualización de objetos destinados a potenciar la interacción de los estudiantes de Prepa Tec con sus espacios y entorno. Se exhibe el resultado de la investigación profunda y comprensión de las necesidades y frustraciones de los usuarios, junto con propuestas concretas para revitalizar la experiencia educativa en el campus.

The process
As a first step, users and their context were analyzed through user personas, empathy maps, and observation. Each student had to spend at least two hours analyzing a space where the target users usually gather, perform activities, and identify any problems or needs they might have. Subsequently, they identified various patterns that became necessary findings and insights to start ideating and designing.
Then, a brainstorming session was conducted based on the identified insights to create an importance-feasibility matrix to select the best possible ideas.
The design
The sketches were born from the best ideas and presented viable objects that could be manufactured. To verify the different characteristics of the designs, mock-ups of the front, side, and top views were generated, as well as an isometric view and a perspective view, thus identifying the various elements of the product. From these sketches, two more versions had to be generated to resolve usability issues.
The impact
During this course, the students were able to identify all the steps of the design process and use digital and physical tools to achieve a result worthy of exhibition. They also have a key working methodology to develop other, more complex projects.
This was the first time that high school students had the opportunity to exhibit their work at Conclusiones Tec, the semesterly exhibition for design students.
